You may click the link to switch the active language.<\/p><p><\/p>\n<h2>Brazil\u2019s CADE approves pharmacy tie-up<\/h2>\n<p>Mattos Engelberg Advogados and Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice Advogados have helped get antitrust approval for Brazilian pharmaceuticals wholesaler Profarma\u2019s purchase of Drogaria Ros\u00e1rio.<\/p>\n<p>Profarma hired Mattos Engelberg for the antitrust filing, while Drogaria Ros\u00e1rio\u2019s previous owner Brasil Pharma relied on Machado Meyer.<\/p>\n<p>CADE gave the go-ahead to the deal on 19 October. The authority said there were no risks to competition as a result of the tie-up because the market share of both companies is low.<\/p>\n<p>CADE only took five days to give its approval: the sale was\u00a0agreed\u00a0in September.<\/p>\n<p>Profarma bought the pharmacy chain from retailers Brasil Pharma and affiliate Rede Nordeste de Farm\u00e1cias, paying US$54 million.
