Brazil initiates a public interest evaluation proceeding regarding suspension on antidumping duties applied to imports of GNO steel from China, South Korea and Chinese Taipei

On April 17, 2019, Brazil’s Secretariat of Foreign Trade of the Special Secretariat of Foreign Trade and International Affairs of the Ministry of Economy published Notice of Initiation No. 23, initiating a public interest evaluation regarding suspension on the antidumping duties applied to Brazilian imports of GNO steel from China, South Korea and Chinese Taipei. The product is commonly classified under items 7225.19.00 and 7226.19.00 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature – NCM (HS based) and the antidumping duties were imposed by the CAMEX Resolution No. 49/2013.

The proceeding will evaluate if there is public interest in suspending the charging of the antidumping measures. Parties who consider themselves as interested in the proceeding shall file a request for participation and submit arguments and documents within a 45-day deadline counting from April 17, that is, June 01, 2019.
