Secretariat of Foreign Trade initiates assessment of the scope of the antidumping duty applied to the imports of glass tableware originating from Argentina, China and Indonesia

The Secretariat of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services published Ordinance No 11/2017 yesterday, initiating an assessment of the scope of the antidumping duty applied to the Brazilian imports of glass tableware originating from Argentina, China and Indonesia. The product is commonly classified under items 7013.49.00, 7013.28.00 and 7013.37.00 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM). The request aims to determine if the product “juice dispensers” is subject to the antidumping duty. According to the petitioner, Full Fit Indústria, Importação e Comércio Ltda., juice dispensers are types of “big jars with spigots”, and thus are not subject to the antidumping duty.

Interested parties have 15 days counting from the initiation of the scope assessment to submit requests for participating in the proceeding. The deadline to provide any comments on the case is of 30 days, to be counted from the initiation of the assessment. The participation of interested parties shall be done through legal representatives registered before the Trade Remedies Department (DECOM).
