SECEX initiates antidumping procedures related to imports of lightweight coated paper, metallic magnesium and welded tubes

The Secretariat of Foreign Trade (“SECEX”) of the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services initiated, on April 20th, 2017, two sunset reviews of antidumping duties connected to Brazilian imports of (i) lightweight coated papers from Germany, Belgium, Canada, USA, Finland and Sweden, and; (ii) metallic magnesium from the Russian Federation. On April 24, SECEX initiated a new antidumping investigation related to the Brazilian imports of welded tubes from Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Interested parties shall receive questionnaires indicating the information to be provided on the procedures and shall have a 30-day deadline for response. The participation of interested parties shall be made through legal representatives before the Department of Trade Remedies (DECOM).

Other parties who consider themselves as interested in the proceedings shall file a request for participation within a 20-day deadline counting from the beginning of the procedures. Below, we present more details relating to each proceeding.
